AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING is available every WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY AFTERNOON 3.05 - 3.45 in the Resource Centre. Homework can be done, tutoring is available for students. There is no need to book, just come to the Resource Centre at 3.05 Wednesday afternoons.

Year 8 Testing

Year 8s undergo testing in three areas - reading, reasoning and reading. From the results of these tests and data from the primary schools, a number of students are identified as needing some degree of learning support. As well, these tests have assisted in identifying students who need extension activities. Letters will be sent to those parents whose student is in need of some learning support in Semester 1. Any enquiries may be directed to Mrs Leigh Muller, HOD of Social Justice.

Numeracy & Literacy

Windaroo Valley High, in keeping with Ed Qld guidelines, has improved numeracy and literacy skills as a priority. As well as learning support staff who assist students within the classroom, this year for the first time we have established numeracy and literacy groups in Year 8 and 9 and literacy and communication classes in Years 9 and 10.

Mrs Del Livermore is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer and is available every Monday and Friday between 9am and 1pm for indigenous related enquiries.
